Senior's Ministry
Senior Adults
At Summerville Baptist Church, our senior adults value fellowship with one another and connecting to our church and community. There are several ways in which our seniors connect through ministry:
-
Our "Keeping Young" group has a luncheon every 3rd Thursday of the month at 11:30 am in the fellowship hall. Bring a covered dish and listen to our guest speakers as we have fun in fellowship with one another.
-
Many of our senior adults participate in the Amen Choir which meets every Monday at 10:30 am at Lakewood Baptist Church. This choir has representatives from many churches throughout our community. They enjoy fellowship together and participate in several choir tours each year.
-
Our senior adults volunteer in church ministries, such as the food closet, the bag ministry, and water ministry.
-
A number of our senior adults participate in the Meals on Wheels program, delivering meals to those in the community unable to prepare food for themselves.
-
Our senior adults serve as Sunday school teachers, work on church committees and participate in mission activities.
All senior adults are welcome and encouraged to come join us as we work to connect to each other, our church, and our community!
