Available Ministries

Children

Summerville Baptist wishes to provide a loving and caring environment for children while teaching of God's love for them.  We have several ministry opportunities for children throughout the week that will help them grow spiritually, mentally and emotionally through Christian instruction.

Students

We offer a ministry for grades 7 - 12 that seeks to not only strengthen the spiritual lives of our students but also to develop and raise up leaders to serve within the ministry and in the church as a whole.  We want our students to have opportunities to have fun together in a way that honors God and His Church, as well as give them the chance to serve.

Women

Our women are involved in several ministries in our church. They have a love for people that impacts all ages. This ministry includes a weekly Tuesday morning Bible study. They meet in homes around the community for a time of fellowship and accountability with other women who are desiring a closer walk with Jesus.

Men

This ministry is designed to disciple men who have a desire to strengthen their walk with the Lord and be involved in the ministry of the church. We meet weekly to study God’s Word using a curriculum called Man Church. We spend time in God’s Word and then discuss what God has revealed through Scripture. This is a time to be challenged and encouraged by other men.

Senior Adults

At Summerville Baptist Church, our senior adults value fellowship with one another and connecting to our church and community.

Food Closet

We provide limited assistance to those in the Phenix City area, through giving of food, spiritual counseling and basic referral information.  The food closet is open each Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM and is staffed by volunteers from our church.

Hospital Bag

Summerville's Bag Ministry is open to anyone that would like to participate.  We supply the bags and water - you fill it with other items of your choice, such as crackers, gum, mints, Kleenex, etc.  Bags are then distributed to family and friends in ICU, Surgical, and Emergency waiting rooms at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital.

Living Water

With the sun beating down on Alabama, there are not many people who would turn down a nice cold bottle of water, especially if it is free. A cold drink of water will satisfy the immediate need, but the thirst will come back again.  It was that very idea that Jesus was alluding to when He told the woman at the well, "whoever drinks of this water will thirst again."  Through the Living Water ministry, our goal is to share the eternal love of God that will satisfy one's needs here in this world, for all eternity.  Jesus went on to tell the woman at the well, "the water that I shall give will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."

Loving HIS Kids

We are actively pursuing opportunities that help the unfortunate kids in our community know that they are loved and accepted. The needs of the kids are met weekly and yearly.
